Seth A. Presser is an associate in the Firm's Litigation, Municipal,
and Appellate Practice Groups, where he concentrates on commercial litigation,
international arbitration, civil rights litigation, and appellate practice. In
addition to representing corporate and private clients in a wide variety
of complex business disputes, Mr. Presser often defends municipalities
from allegations of constitutional and civil rights violations, such
as excessive force and false arrest.
Mr. Presser is also a Special Professor of Law at Hofstra University
School of Law where he teaches a seminar focusing on the law of international
commercial arbitration and the nuances of the United Nations Convention
on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. He also coaches the Willem C. Vis International
Moot Arbitration Team, one of Hofstra’s most prestigious moot court teams,
which participates at competitions in Vienna, Austria and Hong Kong, China each
year.
Mr. Presser received his Juris Doctor from Hofstra University School
of Law, where, while practicing in the Securities Arbitration Clinic,
he represented investors in mediations and arbitrations before the
New York Stock Exchange and the National Association of Securities
Dealers (now FINRA). He also served
as President & Editor in Chief of the Moot Court Association and as President
of the International Moot Arbitration Team, winning awards in numerous domestic
and international Moot Court competitions. In addition, he was a member
of Hofstra’s Labor and Employment Law Journal.
Mr. Presser is admitted to practice in the courts of the States of New
York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
and the District Of Columbia. He is also admitted to the federal courts
of the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the federal courts
of the District of New Jersey, and the United States Courts of Appeals
for the First, Second, and Third Circuits. He
is a member of the American, New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations,
as well as the New York County Lawyers' Association.
