Scott B. Fisher is a partner in the Firm’s Litigation Practice Group. Mr. Fisher practices primarily in the area of general civil litigation, with an emphasis on commercial litigation matters. His practice includes insurance defense and coverage litigation, class action litigation and employment-related matters. Mr. Fisher also handles complex commercial litigation and appellate work in State and Federal courts. Prior to joining the firm in March 1996, Mr. Fisher was an Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Office of the Corporation Counsel for the District of Columbia, where he worked in the Family Services Division and then in the General Litigation Section of the Civil Division. While working in the Civil Division, Mr. Fisher defended the District of Columbia and its various agencies and employees against lawsuits brought in both Federal and State courts. As an Assistant Corporation Counsel, Mr. Fisher litigated a wide array of cases, including premises liability, general negligence, civil rights, employment discrimination, medical malpractice, and various municipal matters. Mr. Fisher also worked for a law firm in Manhattan, where he primarily handled premises liability insurance defense cases. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Fisher worked as a judicial law clerk for a judge in the Superior Court of New Jersey. Mr. Fisher has bench and jury trial experience in multiple jurisdictions in both Federal and State court. He is currently a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Nassau County Bar Association. In addition to the state bar admissions listed below, Mr. Fisher is a member of the federal district courts for the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York and the Districts of New Jersey, Maryland and the District of Columbia. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second, Fourth, and Federal Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.
