David E. Paseltiner Appointed Long Island Cares Board President

David E. Paseltiner, a Partner in the Corporate and Banking Practice Group, has been appointed President of the Board of Directors of Long Island Cares, the Harry Chapin Food Bank. Established in 1980, the mission of Long Island Cares is to bring together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry on Long Island.  Long Island Cares provides emergency food where and when it is needed, sponsors programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educates the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island..
In addition to serving as a Long Island Cares board member for over six years, participating in numerous committees and acting as recording secretary and vice president of the agency, Mr. Paseltiner is also the immediate past Chairman of the Board of Education and Assistance Corporation (EAC), where he continues to serve on its board, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Island Chapter of the American Heart Association. Mr. Paseltiner has also served on the board for the March of Dimes Birth Defects Foundation – Long Island Chapter.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of Commerce Plaza, Inc., a not-for-profit corporation that seeks to foster the entrepreneurial spirit in children through classroom and actual experiential instruction. He is a member of the Nassau County (member and past chair, Corporation Law and By-Laws committees; member, Computer Law Committee), New York State and American (member, Business Law, General Practice and Health Law sections) Bar Associations. Mr. Bilewich earned his B.A. degree from Fordham University and his J.D. degree from Hofstra University School of Law.
