David Paseltiner Honored by Touro Law Center


David E. Paseltiner, a Partner at Jaspan Schlesinger , LLP, was recently honored recently by the Touro College Jacob D. Fuchsberg Law Center for his pro bono efforts on behalf of a number of charities on Long Island, New York.

Mr. Paseltiner has provided extensive pro bono services throughout his career. He currently is the Chairman of the Board of Education and Assistance Corporation (EAC), a not-for-profit agency providing a broad array of educational, vocational, counseling, mediation and intervention services to more than 50,000 people each year throughout the metropolitan area. Mr. Paseltiner has been on EAC’s Board of Directors for over ten years. In addition, he is the Vice President of the Board of Directors of Long Island Cares, Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank, the leading anti-hunger organization and the only food bank on Long Island.

Mr. Paseltiner heads the Corporate and Commercial Transactions practice group at Jaspan Schlesinger . He has extensive experience in a broad range of sophisticated commercial matters, including representing both borrowers and lenders in complex financial transactions, in structuring, negotiating and implementing merger, acquisitions and divestitures, in negotiating and drafting employment and compensation agreements and agreements among shareholders, partners and limited liability company members, and in other corporate, commercial and real estate transactions.

Mr. Paseltiner received his Juris Doctor degree in 1988 from the Hofstra University School of Law, where he was a published editor of the Law Review, and received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1985 from Boston University. He regularly lectures on a variety of corporate matters.

The pro bono award was presented during Touro’s 9th Annual Goods and Services Auction. The proceeds of the auction benefit the school’s Summer Interest Fellowship Program. This year, sufficient proceeds were raised to fund 13 public-interest awards for students who help the area’s neediest individuals.
