Combine to Win Contract Dispute Issue

In  Island Estates v. MBA-Manorhaven, which involveda complicated contract dispute concerning the sale of a plot of land intended to be used for the development of residential properties, Managing Partner Steven R. Schlesinger and Litigation and Environmental Partner Laurel R. Kretzing represented the buyer. The buyer brought suit against the seller who had improperly attempted to terminate the sales agreement.  At the heart of the dispute was the poor environmental condition of the property and the ability and cost of remediating the environmental contamination of the property.  Seller moved for summary judgment.  The court found that the buyers claims were valid and that buyer had a right to have the claims heard at trial.
